Only two weeks after starting its latest display, the Geraldine Vintage Car and Machinery Museum seems to be on to a winner and has plans to expand. YORK COUNTY, Maine — Lower than usual housing inventory coupled with the increased demand of buyers hopeful to make “Vacationland” their home have led to another unprecedented year, one of Maine’s historical highs for the real estate market, said Maine Association of Realtors President Aaron Bolster. There were 33% fewer homes for sale in November 2021 compared to 2020 and 59% fewer than November 2019. However, demand remained “extraordinary for Maine’s residential real estate,” Bolster said in a press release. Home prices rose 11% this year and the number of residential real estate transactions was 4% above the same time period in 2020, according to Bolster.
